The inaugural Best of the Midwest Soccer Showcase will feature a lineup of state-, regionally- and even nationally-ranked boys soccer programs on Saturday.
The one-day showcase, which will be held at the College Boulevard Athletic Complex in Olathe, includes seven teams from Kansas and seven more from Missouri — with 11 of the 14 soccer programs ranked in their respective state polls.
Olathe East, 12-0, headlines the bunch as the No. 9 team in the nation, per the USA Today/National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll. Shane Kopplin leads the unbeaten Hawks with eight goals, and Adrian Blanco has seven this season.
A matchup between Rockhurst and Christian Brothers College will further highlight the seven-game slate. CBC is ranked No. 1 in the Missouri Soccer Coaches Association poll, and Rockhurst is No. 2.
