After Brown nailed a three-pointer, Earnest Ross hit another one on the Tigers’ next trip down the court, giving Missouri an eight-point lead with 6:06 left.
Ross sank four of his five three-pointers in the second half, helping him match his career-high from beyond the arc.Notes
The attendance of 8,826 was a season high, something coach Frank Haith appreciated since part of the Missouri fan base traveled to Atlanta for the SEC football championship game against Auburn.
“I want to thank our fans,” Haith said. “I know it’s a great day for Mizzou. A lot of folks were out in Atlanta, but the folks that were here were outstanding.”
• With the victory, Haith improved to 10-4 against Top 25 teams.
• Jordan Clarkson scored at least 20 points for the fifth straight game, the longest streak for a MU player since Thomas Gardner did it for five games in 2006. Clarkson also passed the 1,000-point mark for his career and now has 1,003 points playing for Missouri and Tulsa.
• Johnathan Williams III notched his second career double-double by scoring 15 points and grabbing 10 rebounds, including seven on the offensive glass.
“He did everything on the stat line,” Haith said. “He’s an active guy. He’s got a great second jump, and he played with that kind of energy in the second half.”
