Missouri landed a commitment Tuesday from James Madison High wide receiver Danny Gray of Dallas.
Gray (6-1, 175), who made the announcement on Twitter, becomes the fifth known commitment in the Tigers’ 2018 recruiting class and the second wide receiver, joining former McCluer North standout Harry Ballard III.
Gray is a speedy athlete who won the Texas 3A state title in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.69 seconds and also was part of a state-championship 400 relay team.
Rivals, 247 Sports and Scout list Gray as a three-star prospect.
He’s pegged as the No. 84 wide receiver and No. 95 player in Texas by Rivals, with offers from Kansas, Grambling, Lamar, North Texas and Texas-San Antonio.
Scout has Gray as the nation’s 125th-ranked wide receiver and No. 24 in Texas, while 247 Sports — which also lists offers from Florida Atlantic, Stephen F. Austin and Tulane — lists Gray as the No. 60 receiver in the country and the No. 46 player in Texas.
Gray is unrated by ESPN, which also lists an offer from North Texas.
