The Kansas volleyball team defeated Iowa State 3-1 on Wednesday night in Ames, Iowa, moving into second place in the Big 12 Conference behind defending national champion Texas.
KU took the first two sets, winning 25-21 and 25-23. The Jayhawks dropped the third set 25-22 before closing out the match in the fourth set, 25-20.
No. 22 Kansas improved to 21-6 overall and 11-3 in the Big 12. It is now in position to finish second in the Big 12 for the first time in school history and play host to an NCAA first- and second-round site for the second straight year.
The Jayhawks avenged an earlier home loss against No. 24 Iowa State, which dropped to 17-7 and 10-3 in the Big 12. It was Kansas’ first victory in Ames since 2004.
