The Kansas football team lost a three-star commitment but gained another during a busy few hours Wednesday.

Nick Williams, a 6-foot-8 offensive tackle from Overland, Mo., announced on Twitter that he had chosen KU. Listed as Rivals’ top offensive lineman in the state, Williams also had offers from Illinois and Minnesota.

“The whole time there has always been a school that stood out to me,” Williams wrote on Twitter. “Ever since I stepped foot on campus it just felt right.”

Meanwhile, previous KU commit Aaron Brule — a 6-foot-2 safety from Matairie, La. — took to Twitter on Wednesday to say he was reopening his recruitment.

“I would like to see what other schools have to offer,” he wrote. “Kansas will continue to be at the top of my list of schools I’m interested in attending.”

Brule, a three-star recruit according to Rivals, is ranked as the nation’s 39th-best safety.

KU continues to hold strong in the 2018 team recruiting rankings; Rivals has the Jayhawks’ class at 16th, while the 247Sports Composite slots the team at 26th.
