Iowa State at Kansas State
WHEN/WHERE: Noon Saturday at Bramlage Coliseum, Manhattan
TV/RADIO: ESPNU; KCSP (610 AM)
The Lowdown: K-State has an opportunity to boost its NCAA Tournament hopes with upcoming home games against Iowa State and Texas. The Wildcats are all alone in fourth place of the Big 12 standings at 7-6 and are coming off a road win over Oklahoma State. They haven’t won at home since Jan. 27, but they will look to change that against Iowa State. The Cyclones have struggled in Big 12 road games, going 0-6 away from Hilton Coliseum.
K-State player to watch: Dean Wade. K-State’s top forward scored 34 points against Iowa State in Ames, and he seems poised to light up the scoreboard again in the rematch. Iowa State’s tendency to switch on defense will give Wade plenty of mismatches, which he should be able to exploit.
Iowa State player to watch: Lindell Wigginton. Iowa State’s leading scorer has helped the Cyclones in many ways as a freshman. The Wildcats will need to pay close attention to him at the three-point line, where he is making 42 percent of his shots.
Kellis Robinett’s Prediction
Kansas State 84, Iowa State 73. This is the perfect time for K-State to get right at home. The Cyclones aren’t known for their defense, and they have lost four straight road games by double digits.
