Chambers leads K-State women to win

Sophomore Brittany Chambers scored a career-high 26 points and grabbed a season-high 13 rebounds to help Kansas State beat Dartmouth 69-48 at the Blue Sky Classic in Hanover, N.H., halting a two-game losing streak.

Chmabers hit six three-pointers — the most by a K-State player since Kari Kincaid made six against Michigan State on Nov. 22, 2007.

Freshman Chantay Caron made her first start for K-State and contributed 13 points and nine rebounds.

Branshea Brown scored nine first-half points and K-State took a 32-27 lead into halftime. Chambers scored 12 consecutive K-State points during a six-minute stretch in the second half to help the Wildcats go up 48-35.

The Wildcats ended the game with a 15-5 run.

K-State outrebounded Dartmouth 52-35 and held the Big Green to 33.3 percent shooting.

Kansas State plays Vermont today at the Blue Sky Classic.
