The latest in Kansas City’s food and drink scene
Northlanders Gain 99 Beers
Argosy Casino Hotel and Spa is welcoming a new eatery to its fold—99 Hops House Kansas City. It is the fourth iteration of the beer house concept in the country but includes flavors that are unique to Kansas City. The restaurant will feature 99 beers on the wall; most of them in tap form.

Along with the beer, 99 Hops House’s menu will feature food that is created by the chef in a made-from-scratch kitchen and perfectly paired with dozens of hard-to-find and local beer varieties.
This brand new space, with a prime location between the main entrance of the casino and the casino floor, features a refined, rustic atmosphere with a pub vibe that includes glass chandeliers, leather booths offering views into the casino as well as table seating, polished concrete floors and a large oval bar in the center. The restaurant will have dining and bar seating for about 112 customers.
The beer-centric theme doesn’t stop at the bar. Room chef Joe Cizek and restaurant manager Eric Flanagan found creative ways to integrate beer into several of the dishes, including barbecue pork nachos topped with Tank 7 cheese sauce, K.C.’s own Krizman bratwurst and sausage boiled in KC Bier Dunkel, and a grilled cheese sandwich created with stout-braised beef.
Sasha’s Baking Company Defies Baker’s Hours
Sasha’s Baking Company, known for their classical French patisserie, is shaking things up a bit and opening their doors later in the day for a bit of imbibing Thursdays through Saturdays.
The Sasha’s aperitif menu includes original craft cocktails as well as normal bar offerings. The pastry case will remain open and savory options, such as a cheese and charcuterie platter, bruschetta or Campo Lindo chicken liver pâté will be available. Each table will also feature complimentary noshes such as gourmet popcorn or Sasha’s bread with gourmet olive oil.
Currently, Sasha’s After Dark is available from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. The bakery is also updating their outdoor patio with lighting and shade sails for a comfortable alfresco experience.
