A vintage-inspired key tag with Midwest pride
Before he started his own company, Ryan Mead had a successful career in corporate finance. He began building furniture as a hobby with his wife, Jessica, until 2013, when he quit his job to take his woodworking full-time. Jessica, who also had a job in corporate finance, followed his lead nine months later.
What started as a hobby resulted in Tyler Kingston Wood & Supply Co., a handmade furniture business that also sells textiles, home accessories and T-shirts. The couple’s clients have included local and national retailers, such as Charlie Hustle, Houndstooth, Anthropologie and Pure Barre.

Tyler Kingston Wood & Supply Co.’s products have a vintage, industrial flair and range from tables and chairs to rugs and candles. The shop even sells custom “KC” key tags, which immediately caught our eye. The design of the tags is inspired by classic motel tags, and for a low price of $6, you can display your Midwest pride right on your key ring in a stylish way.
The plastic tags are available in black and white and come with a silver key ring. You can use them as a stocking stuffer or as gifts for your bridesmaids or groomsmen. No matter how you use them, they’re a simple way to say you’re proud of where you’re from.
