It’s no contest: Lovable George Brett vs. annoying autograph hound

George Brett can be, well, feisty. Everyone knows that. Heck, remember the 1983 Pine Tar game against the New York Yankees?

The passage of time hasn’t dimmed Brett’s passion, it turns out.

Just ask a man identified as Brandon Farrens.

He’s the autograph hound

who approached Brett

when the Royals Hall of Famer got off a plane this week at Kansas City International Airport.

According to The Star, Brett told Farrens: “If I ever see you (expletive) again, I’m going to shoot your (behind), do you understand?”

Naturally, this turned into a

YouTube moment

Brett gets the big benefit of the doubt here, mostly because of this explanation provided by Farrens to KCTV-5. He said he has “sought Brett’s autograph on about 35 occasions, has been successful on about 15 occasions and has sold many of them for a profit.”

In other words, this guy is trying to cash in on Brett’s fame.

Sounds like George, with a poor choice of words, had a good point to make to Mr. Farrens.
