Union Station ‘ghost’ history app hard to find

“I feel like I’m going crazy,” a caller told me late this morning.

She had read the story on the front page of the paper about a new app that lets you “see” scenes from Union Station’s history by pointing your smartphone at locations around the building.

“It looks so cool, but where is it in iTunes? Am I blind?” my caller asked.

She’s not the only one who can’t find it. I had no luck searching either iTunes for the iPhone or the Google Play store for Android devices, using keywords “Union Station” and “Kansas City.”

Turns out you have to use the app’s full name, which wasn’t mentioned in the story: Living History: Union Station Kansas City. I’ve suggested that the newsroom add it to the online version.

In the meatime, iOS users can find it here, and Android users can get it here. It’s free on both platforms.
