Most of the corrections that run in The Star's print edition come in via my lines, and I always try to get them in the paper as soon as possible. Unfortunately, there will be one in Sunday's paper, and there's no way to avoid it even two days in advance.
I found out about the error last night, when a poet whose new work is reviewed in the July 1 A+E section read the review on KansasCity.com. Stories often post earlier on the website than they appear in print, so the poet was able to alert me that the review got his city of residence wrong.
I've already fixed it online -- but A+E has already printed. The error is relatively minor, so it doesn't merit tossing out many thousands of copies of the section (though that wouldn't be an impossibility if the mistake were egregious enough).
