Going back to basics appears to be the path McDonald’s is on in re-introducing bigger burgers on its fast-food restaurant menu.
Three “Sirloin Third Pound” burgers are being added this month for a limited time to appeal to those who salivate over the hamburger and French fries standard, which made McDonald’s famous. The sirloin burgers will be the biggest beef patties on the restaurant chain’s menu since the Angus Third Pounders disappeared in 2013.
The sirloin burgers will counter the salads, many McWrap selections, yogurts, apple slices, fruit juices, oatmeal and other healthy add-on McDonald’s menu options. Mainstay McDonald’s customers should be pleased with the new burger choices.
The menu additions should help to boost McDonald’s sagging North American sales.
With McDonald’s Big Mac, Quarter Pounder with Cheese and dollar menu options, some customers said the old Angus burgers were priced too high. Depending on the franchises, the sirloin burgers will be about $4.99.
