Left-hander John Lamb gave up five runs (four earned) in five innings Monday as High-A Wilmington lost 5-1 to Carolina.
Lamb, 4-5, struck out seven and walked just one, but he gave up eight hits.
In his last two starts, Lamb had not allowed a run in 14 innings, while allowing only seven hits.
Daniel Mateo's solo homer in the ninth accounted for the Blue Rocks' lone run.

The Storm Chasers snapped a 21-inning scoreless streak, but lost 7-1 to Memphis.
Starter Chris Dwyer gave up five runs (three earned) on eight hits in six innings. He struck out six and walked three. Francisley Bueno allowed two runs on five hits in three innings of relief work.
Second baseman Chase Lambin had two hits, including a triple, and scored Omaha's run in the bottom of the seventh.
