Here is Endy Chavez's greatest play as a major-leaguer

The Royals signed outfielder Endy Chavez to a minor-league contract on Monday, and if you’ve never seen the greatest play of his career, here’s your chance.

To set the scene: It’s game seven of the 2006 National League Championship Series and Chavez and the Mets are tied with the Cardinals 1-1 in the top of the sixth inning. St. Louis has a runner at first with one out when Scott Rolen smacks a fly ball to left field.

Chavez goes back .

While the Mets ended up losing 3-1 to St. Louis, it really was a great, clutch catch.

Chavez also had a single in the ninth inning as the Mets loaded the bases. Former Royal Carlos Beltran struck out looking on a 3-2 pitch to end the game.
