Donald Trump Jr. has hopped in the Twitter ring with his father in the bout with CNN.
Trump Jr. tweeted a video Saturday of a doctored clip of the 1986 military thriller “Top Gun.” In it, President Donald Trump’s face is superimposed over Tom Cruise’s character as he shoots down a Russian jet with a CNN logo on it. Trump is seen in the clip repeating his “you’re fired” catchphrase before launching a missile.
Trump Jr. called the video “one of the best I’ve seen.” The source of the doctored video wasn’t immediately clear.

President Donald Trump tweeted a video earlier this month of a doctored clip from a pro wrestling appearance that shows him pummeling a man whose face is covered by the CNN logo. The tweet became Trump’s most-shared tweet.
It started with Reddit user HanA--holeSolo posting a meme – something done thousands of times per day on the site – and now journalists have been threatened, CNN has identified the user’s real name and many are accusing the network of blackmailing him.
Trump Jr. became embroiled in his own big news story over the weekend.
He was promised damaging information about Hillary Clinton before agreeing to meet with a Kremlin-connected Russian lawyer during the 2016 campaign, The New York Times reported.
The meeting was also attended by Trump’s campaign chairman at the time, Paul Manafort, and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner. Manafort and Kushner only recently disclosed the meeting, though not its content, in confidential government documents described to The New York Times.
The Associated Press contributed to this report.
