Arsonist feels the burn
Add another page to the annals of dumb criminals.
A guy trying to burn down a new barber shop in Madisonville, Ky., on Sunday morning lit himself on fire.
A surveillance video captured the whole thing.
Roll the tape.
First a woman gets out of a white minivan, possibly a Ford Windstar, parked at the back of the shop and breaks a window.
Then a guy in a red T-shirt and shorts gets out of the van and tosses a flaming Molotov cocktail through the window.
He reaches back into the van and grabs a second flaming bottle. But when he throws it at the building some of the flammable liquid spills on him — and the left leg of his shorts bursts into flames.
He takes off running across the parking lot, moving so fast he face-plants on the lawn next door. Obviously still freaked out, he zigzags his way back to the van, but not before one of his shoes flies off his foot.
He leaves the shoe.
Back at the van, he pulls out another flaming bottle of something and this time, lesson learned, carefully tosses it toward the building.
Then he and his accomplice drive off.
Police posted the video to YouTube hoping someone would recognize the suspects, according to WEHT in Evansville, Ind.
The building survived.
