The story of the one that almost got away.

Police in Lufkin, Texas, have released a video that shows a 33-year-old woman escaping police custody.

After slipping out of handcuffs, Toscha Sponsler is seen climbing into the front seat of the patrol vehicle and speeding off.

She led officers on a 23-minute, 100 mph chase that ended when a trooper used a maneuver that caused her to lose control of the vehicle.

She denied medical treatment at the scene and was taken back into police custody.

Maybe she’ll stay there this time.
