The campaigns head into the final weekend — time for newspaper profiles, last-minute debates, and fingernail-biting. That’s particularly true in, as Dan Rather might say, the tighter-than-a-tick GOP governor’s primary in Missouri.

All the GOP candidates are hammering Eric Greitens, a sign that he may be doing better than expected. Catherine Hanaway is angry Greitens is skipping the last debate.

“Eric should man up and show up,” she said.

Greitens is facing heat for alleged associations with Barack Obama. He responded with an claiming claiming Obama is the worst president of his — Greitens’ — lifetime. The John Brunner campaign is hitting Greitens hard on this issue.

Brunner is being sued for referring to a Greitens’ contributor with a sexual slur.

But it appeared late in the week that a group affiliated with the Democratic Governors Association is reserving time for ads hitting Greitens on the same topic.
