Ed Martin is out as the head of the Missouri Republican Party.
Martin — who took the post a little over two years ago — said Monday he won’t run for another term.
“This announcement does not mean I am leaving our party, quite the contrary,” he said in a statement issued by the Missouri GOP. “I will remain involved to help grow our party and assure we bring accountability and responsibility to statewide office in Missouri, as well as the White House.”
Martin is expected to take a job with the Eagle Forum, a special interest group affiliated with Phyllis Schlafly.

The decision paves the way for the election of John Hancock to the Missouri job. That election will come later this month in Kansas City.
