Rep. Lynn Jenkins is headed to Cuba.
The 2nd district Kansas congresswoman will lead a delegation of state and local officials to visit the detention center at Guantanamo.
Jenkins is one of the elected officials in Kansas who has furiously resisted the transfer of any Guantanamo detainees to the Leavenworth prison facility, or anywhere else on U.S. soil. Such a transfer seems increasingly unlikely, but Kansans are trying to keep the issue in the public eye nonetheless.
