We end 2013 with a batch of new poll findings from CNN/ORC International that set a benchmark for national politics in the new year.
Let’s count ‘em down:
• New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Hillary Clintonare deadlocked
in a hypothetical presidential race with Christie at 48 percent and Clinton at 46 percent.
Clinton, though, leads eight other GOP candidates, the survey found.
•Republicans now hold
a 49 percent to 44 percent lead over Democrats, a dramatic switch from just two months ago when the Democratic Party stood steady with an 8-point lead over the GOP, 50 percent to 42 percent.
•Two-thirds of Americans say
Congress is the least productive in their lifetimes, with 73 percent saying lawmakers have done nothing to address the nation’s problems.
