The National Republican Senatorial Committee that Kansas Sen. Jerry Moran now heads got out-raised by its Democratic counterpart by nearly 2:1 in the year’s first quarter.
The NRSC picked up $6.9 million in the first three months of 2013 compared to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee’s $13.7 million.

that the Democratic campaign committee on the House side also whipped its GOP counterpart. The DCCC raised $22.6 million to he the National Republican Congressional Committee’s $17.5 million.
The Hill points out that Moran’s committee got off to a slow start hiring staff after he was elected to the position in November.
“We’re confident we’ll have the resources needed to win in 2014,” NRSC spokeswoman Brook Hougesen told the Hill.
