The only caption with this photo from The Star’s historical archives reads, “Bishop O’Hara in his chapel giving confirmation, April 1939.”

Archbishop Edwin Vincent O’Hara led the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph starting in 1939. He died on Sept. 11, 1956. Today, Archbishop O’Hara High School at 9001 James A. Reed Road bears his name.

The diagonal line across the photo comes from the original having been creased when it was placed into an envelope.
