The Concourse Park at St. John Avenue and Benton Boulevard in Kansas City’s Northeast area used to look different.
In this photo, Phillip Otellio and his sister, Ann Otellio, play while a group of adults in the background fish in what was once known as the Casting Pool, a shallow pool where small boats used to float. The Concourse Fountain, first operated in 2002, sits at the middle of the structure today.
