AT THEIR EASE — Of a different era are Nig and Red, last survivors of Kansas City's horse-drawn fire department, which were retired to the pastures of Swope park. Here they await feeding by Charles Burnaugh, 3226 Garner avenue, a park department employee. The fire department career of Nig, now 35 years old, and Red, 32, ended in 1920. For some years they pulled city lawnmowers and plows.
