An armed disturbance at a Prairie Village park Sunday night led to a brief standoff that ended with one man taken into custody.
Prairie Village police said they were called just before 6:30 p.m. Sunday to Weltner Park at 78th Street and State Line Road, on a reported disturbance involving a gun.
Arriving officers found a man armed with a gun, police said. At a distance, officers surrounded the man who stood in the middle of the park with his hands clasped behind his head for several minutes.
Eventually, the man knelt with his hands in the air, and officers handcuffed him without incident.
