A 35-year-old Olathe man has been charged with arson in connection with a December fire at the home he shared with his wife and children.

Johnson County prosecutors have charged Nicholas J. McLaren with three counts of aggravated arson and one count of interfering with law enforcement. He is accused of setting a fire on Dec. 9 that damaged the family home on West 125th Terrace near North Parker Street and then making a false report to police.

Court documents detailing the charges reference the danger the fire posed to McLaren’s wife and two children.

McLaren was in custody Tuesday at the Johnson County jail, with bond set at $50,000.
