With one person in custody, police were looking for a gunman Tuesday afternoon after two people were critically injured in a double shooting outside a barbershop in Kansas City, Kan.

The shooting occurred shortly after 1 p.m. at a barbershop on 18th Street north of Parallel Parkway. The victim ran across the street for help at the Snack Pack/Phillips 66 convenience store. That victim had been shot in the chest and was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

Another victim drove up 18th Street and stopped at Wood Avenue. Onlookers at a business there flagged down a police car to help him. That victim, also in critical condition, had been shot in the face.

Police have taken one person into custody and were looking for a second person.

Police taped off the parking lot of the barbershop, where authorities think both victims were shot after an altercation.
