A 14-year-old boy suffered life-threatening injuries in a Sunday night shooting in Kansas City, Kan.

Police said the shooting occurred about 10:20 p.m. Sunday in the 400 block of Freeman Avenue.

A man who lives on that block also suffered a gunshot wound to the leg.

The man told police that he heard several gunshots outside and when he opened his front door to look, he saw two people running away.

One of them turned and fired a shot, striking him in the leg, he told police.
