Olathe police said the victim of a shooting in an Olathe Wal-Mart parking lot early Monday morning and the shooter knew each other.

“This was not random,” Sgt. Bryan Hill. “Everybody knew everybody.”

Police said they are looking for a 15-year-old boy after a man was shot in the parking lot of the Wal-Mart in the 13600 block of South Alden Street. Hill said several individuals at the scene said they knew the boy and identified him.

Neither the boy nor the victim have been identified publicly by the police.

Officers responded to an armed disturbance around 4:30 a.m., according to a tweet from the Olathe Police Department.

A 20-year-old man was transported to a hospital with one or more gunshot wounds. Hill said the injuries were not life threatening.

According to scanner traffic, a suspect vehicle was found later Monday morning near Interstate 35 and 119th Street, but the teenager apparently was not in the vehicle.
