Police on Tuesday investigated separate homicides in Kansas City that left a man and woman dead.
In one homicide, police received a call about 3 a.m. Tuesday that a woman was dead inside an apartment in the 1200 block of East 37th Street.
Police said an acquaintance of the woman found her body after going to the apartment to visit. She had visible injuries and was unresponsive, police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of death was under investigation.
In an earlier homicide, a man in his early 20s died after being shot in the 5600 block of East 84th Terrace.

Police responding to a reported shooting found the man outside an apartment complex. He suffered an apparent gunshot wound. He died at a hospital.
