A Raytown man has been charged with sodomy, robbery and assault in connection with an attack on a woman Wednesday.
Michael S. Page, 36, is accused of arranging a meeting with a woman through an online personal ad and then sexually assaulting her when she arrived Wednesday afternoon at a house in the 8000 block of Hawthorne Avenue in Raytown, according to court documents.
The 28-year-old woman told police she had agreed to meet a man at the house for sex in exchange for money. Instead, a man in a mask and gloves attacked her, hit her over the head and stole her cellphone.
Less than an hour later, police questioned Page, who was found about a mile away riding a bicycle and wearing gloves that matched the suspect description.

According to Jackson County prosecutors, Page told police he had made the appointment with the woman but didn’t intend to pay her. He didn’t live at the house where the incident occurred, but chose it because he knew the area would be quiet.
Raytown detectives served a search warrant on Page’s home and found a cellphone that police believed belonged to the woman.
Page was charged Thursday and bond was set at $50,000.
