South Kansas City shooting victim identified

Police on Monday identified a man shot and killed in south Kansas City early Sunday as James M. Williams, 30.

Officers responding just before 5 a.m. to a home in the 11700 block of Fuller Avenue found two people had been wounded: Williams and a woman who was approximately 50 years old. Williams later died at an area hospital. The woman had been listed in serious but stable condition on Sunday.

A suspect fled on foot. Anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.
