Four injured during shooting in Kansas City’s 18th & Vine Jazz District

Four people were injured when two large groups of people gathered in the streets and started shooting at each other early Sunday in Kansas City’s 18th & Vine Jazz District.

Police responded to the shootings at 2:40 a.m. Sunday outside The Juke House bar at 1700 E. 18th Street.

Arriving officers found one victim lying on the sidewalk in front of the bar. He appeared to have been shot in the upper torso. The man was taken to a hospital and was listed in serious condition, police said.

The second victim flagged down paramedics at Truman Road and Grand Avenue and was was taken to a hospital. A bar patron drove the third victim to a hospital. And the fourth victim drove to a hospital.

The second, third and fourth victims appeared to have been shot. The injuries were not believed to have been life-threatening.
