Police waiting on search warrant to further investigate triple homicide in Raytown
Raytown police responding to a shooting call found three men dead outside a home Sunday night.
Officers were called to the 11000 block of East 74th Terrace about 8:20 p.m. after someone who heard shots fired called 911 and said they saw bodies lying in front of the home.
Officers arrived and found three men dead from gunshot wounds.
A neighbor reported hearing two sets of four gunshots — eight shots in all.
Shortly after 11 p.m., the Missouri Highway Patrol announced it had investigators at the scene investigating the triple homicide.
As of midnight, the investigators were waiting on search warrants to enter the house and search vehicles on the scene, said Sgt. Bill Lowe of the Missouri Highway Patrol, which he said is taking the lead in the investigation at Raytown’s request.
Investigators were still determining if they thought the shooter was among the victims or was at large. No victim or suspect information was available early Monday morning.
“We’re trying to make every determination,” Lowe said. “If we are looking for someone else (as a suspect) we will put that information out as quickly as possible.”
Anyone with information was asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.
