On the run: Man in handcuffs allegedly escapes from KCK police during felony arrest

Police asked for the public's help Tuesday morning after a 21-year-old man allegedly escaped in handcuffs during a felony arrest near the Legends Outlets shopping center in Kansas City, Kan.

Police said they are looking for Deron McAfee who had been taken into custody for felony charges near 106th Street and Parallel Parkway.

While he was in custody, he allegedly managed to escape wearing handcuffs and was last seen about 9 p.m. Monday near the Legends.

McAfee was wearing a black, red and white plaid shirt with a white T-shirt underneath. He was described as being 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds. Police released a photo of him in the hopes that someone might have seen him and called police.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of McAfee is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477 (TIPS).
