Woman, man allegedly robbed KC-area businesses, then spent the money at casinos

A woman and man from Kansas City have been indicted in a conspiracy to rob numerous area businesses.

Dawn Baldwin, 49, and Aaron Fisher, 46, who lived together in South Kansas City, are charged in a 16-count indictment recently returned by a federal grand jury in Kansas City.

They allegedly conspired to commit a number of armed robberies between last December through April 2.

Both are charged with robbing two motels in Independence and Grain Valley.

Fisher is charged with committing five other robberies in Kansas City, Lee's Summit, Raytown and Lathrop, Mo. He is also charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm.

After they were arrested, both allegedly admitted to committing the robberies.

Baldwin told investigators that they split the money and used it to gamble at area casinos, according to court documents.

They are being held in federal custody without bond.
