Good job, KC: Man in custody hours after police seek help in convenience store homicide

That was quick, Kansas City.

Hours after police asked for help identifying a "person-of-interest" in the fatal shooting at a 7-Eleven convenience store late Friday, Kansas City police announced that they had the man in custody.

A man, who has yet to be identified, was fatally shot inside a 7-Eleven at 10615 Blue Ridge Blvd., about 11:15 p.m. Friday. Emergency crews rushed the man to a hospital where he later died.

Several people were inside the store at the time of the shooting.

Police released a surveillance image on Saturday morning of a "person-of-interest" who was seen fleeing in a tan vehicle at the time of the shooting. Police asked for help identifying the man, including sending out a tweet.

Police also said they were trying to talk to witnesses who were inside the store at the time of the shooting.

Shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday, police said via Twitter:

"Woah! ID'd & in custody?!! KC Metro you did it again! Thank you!"
