One person is dead and another, a juvenile, was injured after a shooting late Tuesday night on East 80th Street, according to Kansas City police.
Officers went to the 1600 block of East 80th Street on a reported shooting just after 11 p.m. Tuesday, police said in a news release.
When officers arrived, they found a victim at a residence with gunshot injuries. The victim, whose name, age and gender have not yet been released by police, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers located a second victim, a juvenile, who was also shot. The juvenile was taken to a hospital with injuries that were considered non-life threatening.
Police said it appeared the two were shot as the result of a drive-by shooting. The case is being investigated as a homicide.
Several children who were inside the home at the time of the shooting were not injured.
