Police pursue bank robbery suspect on Interstate 70 in Kansas City
A Platte County bank robbery suspect was arrested Tuesday after a high-speed police pursuit that ended in central Kansas City.
The FBI said that the robbery occurred about noon at a U.S. Bank branch in Edgerton.
A short time later, officers spotted a suspect vehicle on Interstate 29 heading south toward Kansas City.
Officers from multiple agencies pursued the suspect vehicle across the Bond Bridge over the Missouri River and then east on Interstate 70.
The suspect exited at Jackson Avenue and drove to about 33rd Street and Jackson where he ran from the vehicle.
By then a Kansas City police helicopter was overhead and guided officers on the ground to the suspect, who was taken into custody.
