Kansas City police said a homicide investigation is underway after finding a body inside a residence on Wednesday.

Officers were dispatched to the 2600 block of Cleveland Avenue shortly before 2 p.m. on a “nature unknown” call, Kansas City police spokeswoman Kari Thompson wrote by email.

Upon arrival, officers located a victim inside the residence. Kansas City fire personnel declared the person deceased at the scene.
