Police on Saturday investigated a double shooting reported just two blocks southwest of a Kansas City Police Department patrol campus.
The shooting was reported shortly before 8 p.m. in the 2800 block of Olive Street.
The area is less than two blocks southwest of the Kansas City Police Department’s East Patrol Campus at 2640 Prospect.
According to Kansas City Police Capt. Stacey Graves, officers responding to the scene were unable to locate the victims, who both later arrived at local hospitals with gunshot wounds.
One female victim has injuries that are not life-threatening and a male is in serious condition, Graves said.
Officers took a suspect into custody after the shooting.
