A Lawrence man who was charged last week with sexually assaulting a child under 14 was involved in youth sports.
The Lawrence Journal-World reports that Andrew Tribble, 39, was arrested Aug. 8 and charged Aug. 10 in Douglas County District Court with a total of 12 felony counts of rape, aggravated criminal sodomy, aggravated indecent liberties and criminal sodomy against the same child victim.
In 2011, Tribble allegedly began raping and molesting the girl when she was 10, and it continued until the day before he was arrested, according to the Journal-World. The girl is now 16.
Tribble was listed online as the contact person for an under 12 boys baseball team, according to a posting on the Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department website. The contact person has since been updated.
