A man who allegedly took his 2-year-old son from the boy’s mother at gunpoint faces multiple charges in Kansas City, Kan.
Prosecutors charged Joshua Brunt, 25, with aggravated interference with parental custody, aggravated assault, battery and aggravated endangering a child after a Friday incident in Kansas City, Kan., set off an Amber Alert search for 2-year-old Jace Brunt. His wife, who is not the boy’s mother, also faces charges for her alleged role in the incident.
Brunt, the boy’s noncustodial father, allegedly took the child Friday afternoon, according to police. The boy was reunited with his mother later that evening.
Jasmine Brunt, 25, faces an identical set of charges for allegedly serving as her husband’s accomplice, according to the Wyandotte County District Attorney’s office. The pair were charged Saturday.
The district attorney’s office emphasized that the investigation remains ongoing.
