Three women used pepper spray in a pair of robberies in Grandview last week, according to police.
Grandview police on Thursday distributed a surveillance camera image of two suspects in the robberies, which were reported June 27 about 4:45 p.m. in the parking lots of businesses in the 12300 and 12000 blocks of Interstate 49.
According to police, the three robbers watched victims in the parking lot and then quickly approached the victims as they entered their cars.
During one robbery, an assailant approached a victim as she entered her car and pepper sprayed her while a second assailant opened the passenger door of the victim’s vehicle and stole her purse.
During another robbery, the victim was able to lock her doors before the assailants used pepper spray on her or gained access to her vehicle.
Two robbers left the area in a four-door Silver Chevrolet Impala from the years 2006 to 2010, believed to be driven by a third woman.
Grandview police asked anyone with information to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.
