A police standoff in south-central Kansas City on Friday ended hours later after a man connected to the incident surrendered to police.
Kansas City police were called about 7:15 a.m. Friday to the 2400 block of East 73rd Street. A woman told officers that she had been assaulted inside a residence, and someone had fired shots at her as she left, police said.
The woman was not shot, but was treated for injuries from the earlier assault.
The shooting suspect refused to come outside. Police said a number of other adults may have also been inside the house. Officers surrounded the area, and negotiators were called to the scene.
