Truck crashes into North Kansas City bar
Three persons, including a registered sex offender, were arrested Thursday after a high-speed pursuit that started in Independence and ended when their pickup slammed into a North Kansas City bar.
The incident happened just after 1 p.m. when a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper witnessed a vehicular wreck at 23rd Street and Noland Road. One of the vehicles involved in the wreck quickly sped away, said Sgt. Collin Stosberg, with the highway patrol.
The 20-minute pursuit went through Independence and continued into Raytown. At one point, the pickup crashed into another vehicle at 23rd Street and Interstate 435 without stopping. No injuries were reported in that wreck.
The pursuit ended when the pickup crashed into a bar in the 2000 block of Armour Road in North Kansas City.
The occupants jumped out of the pickup and ran. They were arrested moments later, Stosberg said.
The driver, a 47-year-old Kansas City man, has outstanding warrants for sex-related crimes.
