Police identified a 43-year-old pedestrian who died early Wednesday after being struck by a hit-and-run driver while walking in the 3-Trails Crossings area of Kansas City as Larenzo D. White.

White, a Kansas City resident, was found dead along westbound Interstate 435 shortly after midnight.

The man was walking west on the right-hand shoulder of I-435 just east of the Grandview Road bridge. An unknown vehicle traveling west on the ramp from southbound I-49 to I-435 struck the pedestrian, according to police.

The vehicle left the scene. Emergency crews pronounced White dead at the scene.
