More than a dozen businesses in downtown Overland Park had windows shattered in an overnight vandalism spree.

Overland Park police said that it appeared a BB gun or pellet gun was used in the incident that caused thousands of dollars in damage.

At least 16 businesses and some residences in the area of 80th Street and Santa Fe Drive were affected, police said.

A police spokesman said more than $25,000 in damage was reported.

Police released surveillance camera photos of a white Ford Ranger extended cab pickup truck believed to have been involved. The truck appeared to have a missing front hood and silver bed rails.
